CLOTHES MAKE THE...CHIROPRACTOR?!

A new study by Leduc in January 2025 concluded that what we chiropractors wear influences our patients’ perception of us, including your Tonawanda chiropractor at Chiropractic Spine Sports And Rehabilitation. Good to know! Scrubs create a more knowledgeable, competent, professional, comfortable, trustworthy look for us. White coats and formal wear came in second place. For women chiropractors, the white coat was more positive for them than when men wear them. (1) Curiously, this attire issue doesn’t just concern chiropractors. A study of patient perception of surgeons based on their attire in Saudi Arabia noted that scrubs and white coats were preferred by patients for hygiene as well as the image of expertise and dedication. (2) Beyond their attire, chiropractors are working to hone their professional identity to better interact other healthcare colleagues who – according to other articles like the surgeon attire one – also work to polish their image and identity for their patients and collegial interactions. (3) One paper boldly resolved that “although the chiropractic profession may debate internally about its professional identity, the chiropractic identity seems to have already been established by society, practice, legislation, and education as a profession of health care providers whose area of expertise is spine care.(4) Starting with spine care is good for Chiropractic Spine Sports And Rehabilitation! Spine pain relief builds trust, leading patients to work withus for other health issues. Bring on your Tonawanda back pain and neck pain! We’ll put on our best scrubs, clothes and/or white coats!
